The Host ****

By Stephanie Meyer

Just like Twilight is a vampire story for people who don't like vampire stories, The Host is a sci-fi novel for people who don't like sci-fi. Ultimately, this is a very human story about love, friendship, loyalty and family. It's moving and unique.
I really loved the world Stephanie created and I found myself sucked in.
I found that this book was less"adult "than some of the Twilight books.
I wished, that at the end, She would have expanded more on the relationship between Wanderer and Melanie... More dialogue would have been nice...

The Two Princesses of Bamarre ****

By Gail Carson Levine

I loved this story! Great fairy tale. It was a little slow at getting the adventure started though... but overall a great magical read!

If I should die before I wake *****

By Han Nolan
From beginning to end, this book had me gripped. Loved it! Very well written. I liked the way The author presented his story by having an angry Neo-Nazi teen, Hilary, walk in the shoes of a Jewish teen, Chana during the holocaust. If only we could somehow walk in each others shoes, a lot of conflicts would be resolved or not even happen. I loved the characters especially the wise loving gifted Bubbe. I will not be forgetting this story any time soon... No one should ever forget what happened!

The Shack ***

By William Young

The beginning was heart wrenching (I have a beautiful 6 year old too...) The middle was somewhat a little confusing, but interesting. Some true statements and some false doctrine. The end was wonderful, but I felt it was rushed.
This needs to be read as fiction and not as truth.

The Uses of Adversity ***

By Carlfred Broderick

A very fast read! I read it in an hour. Very uplifting in times of pain and trials. My favorite quote from this address:
"The gospel of Jesus Christ is not insurance against pain. It is resource in event of pain."

Worth reading!

A lire absolument!

The last Lecture***

by Randy Pausch

I liked this book for the little nuggets of advise on how to live a successful life. The circumstances under which it was written are very sad.
I did find that he centered on himself a little too much, but then who wouldn't as they are about to die. For me it is like a review of his life and what he learned, seen in the most positive way.

Snow Flower and the Secret Fan*****

By Lisa See

A beautiful story of friendship between 2 little girls, during the China of foot binding. A heart wrenching story extremely well written. A must read!

Tres bien ecrit. A lire absolument!

Fairest***

By Gail Carson Levine

I enjoyed this book because the main character had to decide that she liked herself no matter what she saw in the mirror. I'm a fan of fairy tales. I loved Ella Enchanted even thought I only saw the movie. As I was reading this "Snow White" like story, I was wishing I could see and hear all the singing that is in the kingdom of Ayortha. In all, a fun enjoyable read...

Burying our swords***

By Kevin Hinckley

Great easy read... Using the story of the Anti-Nephi-Lehites in the Book of Mormon and applying it to our life and relationships. We cannot change those around us, no matter how hard we try and desire to, but we can change ourselves by striving to have our hearts at peace and burying our weapons of war....

The Anathomy of Peace*****

Resolving the Heart of Conflict
By the Arbinger Institute

This book is written in narrative style as a fictional story. The characters in the book are in a class learning the principles of having a peaceful heart. It teaches the true principle of seeing others as real people rather than objects.
Now if I could always remember to live by the things I have learned within its pages, that would be awesome! I might just have to read it again and again!
